  1. Opening
    1. Start time: 7:00pm
    2. Serenity Prayer: Peter D
    3. Tradition Number 8: Sex Addicts Anonymous should remain forever nonprofessional, but our service centers may employ special workers.
    4. Open discussion on the Tradition of the month
    5. Introductions
  2. Announcements
    1. New Announcements
      1. The ISO is having significant financial problems. Donations and sales are down 10%, although donations are creeping back up. The conference may be hybrid, but the cost is $25K, and the in-person portion is $20K. If donations don’t come back up, then we may only have an online option this year for the Conference. The board is looking at donations weekly to determine the format of the Conference. Hopefully the board will decide by the end of the month, so Areas can make travel plans.
      2. Some meetings are asking about OCISAA donating to the ISO.
        1. Our ocisaa (intergroup) donates 25% of our donations to the ISO (each quarter or 6 months based on what was donated in that period, not our entire donations).
        2. We do this to ensure our donations are not being siphoned off, and to build up funds for Google Adword outreach campaign, the most important thing we can do locally to reach the addict who still suffers.
        3. Besides being transparent with the OCISAA Treasury, we plan to help fund this year’s retreat and restarting the Google Ad Word campaign.
    2. Ongoing Announcements
      1. Announcing the ISO Delegate Conference, October 7th and 8th, 2022
        1. Each area assembly of SAA registered with the ISO should elect a delegate to be its voting member of the Conference.

        1. You are invited to attend our next session of the “Let’s Talk” forum, which will take place on Saturday, June 18th at 1:00 PM CDT. Our last session was well attended and generated a very lively discussion on how SAA groups have been transitioning back to face-to-face and using hybrid meetings.

    2. Nominations for service opportunities: At the next Conference in October, several elected positions will need to be filled – NomComm is looking for candidates. Jim L. will illustrate the various roles that will become available, and you can find out how you can help the fellowship yourself.

Service Resume: https://saa-recovery.org/saa-service-resume/ (username=steps password=courage)

  1. A personal note on the second topic: SAA is “us” –nobody else. For SAA  to continue to grow and support our recovery and reach out to the addict who still suffers we need your involvement in service. So let’s share this responsibility as it also helps our personal recovery. As a rookie member of the Conference Steering Committee, I can tell you that this has been a very enriching experience for me. Everybody needs to serve within the fellowship; no special skills are required–only willingness.
  2. [ISO News] Announcing SAA Connect
    1. We are proud to announce the unveiling of a new mobile-friendly website – SAA Connect.  Why the name SAA Connect?  Connection is the opposite of Addiction.
    2. Here you will find some selected audios from past conventions, the complete volume of Voices of Recovery and Tools of Recovery, a sobriety calculator down to the second, and in the near future all of our past newsletters (The Outer Circle, or TOC).
    3. This is the public viewing site of our content.  A member area will be revealed in the near future.  The member area will be accessed via a username and password and one will be able to have access to more content, and a forums area for discussion at a service committee level or topics like sponsorship and step work.
    4. Just go to saa-connect.org and check out the new site.  There may be some small tweaks in the near future and more content added.  Check back often.
  3. Area assembly delegate training
    1. On behalf of the Conference Steering Committee (CSC), the CSC communications subcommittee is running a series of 3 workshops for area delegates. They are intended for all delegates and designed to support you in your role and in growing your area. So whether you are new to the role and want to find out what’s involved or you have been successful in your area, you are all welcome to attend and participate.
    2. The workshops will be on May 15, June 12, and August 7 at 12pm CDT (10am PT)(11am MT)(1pm ET)(5pm UTC). The zoom information is below.
    3. The agenda for the 3 workshops will be attached to the same email as the May 2022 minutes and we look forward to seeing you there.
    4. Select this link to join Zoom Meeting on your computer or smartphone: https://saa-iso.zoom.us/j/3920825300
