Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so they may overcome their sexual addiction and help others recover from sexual addiction or dependency.

  • Membership is open to all who share a desire to stop addictive sexual behavior. There is no other requirement.
  • Our common goals are to become sexually healthy and to help other sex addicts achieve freedom from compulsive sexual behavior.
  • SAA is supported through voluntary contributions from members.
  • We are not affiliated with any other twelve-step programs, nor are we a part of any other organization. We do not support, endorse, or oppose outside causes or issues.

Sex Addicts Anonymous is a spiritual program based on the principles and traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. We are grateful to AA for this gift which makes our recovery possible.

New to SAA?

If you are new to SAA, we recommend reading What is Sex Addiction? and Am I a Sex Addict?, then find a meeting.

  1. Nice looking website!!! Are you working on providing additional information about various recovery activities or group events within the recovery community?

    Sincerely,

    Richard S.
    Indiana Intergroup (indiana-saa.org)

    • Hello Richard,
We are currently contacting local therapists via email letting them know about our program. And we are working on search word optimization locally to reach the addicts who still suffer. The start of this will be a landing page when certain words/terms are typed in a search engine that ends up on a section of this website. In the very near future, we will have a campaign using Google that will reach those looking for recovery and those who are not looking for recovery.

  2. Hello, I am a wife of a sex addict. This addiction has taken a toll on our marriage where we are currently separated. I need to be able to go somewhere where I can listen to others speak and try to make sense of this. Is there availability for myself in these meetings?

    • Hello Fabiola,
I apologize for getting back to you so late.
There are a few resources for spouses or partners of sex addicts. One is called COSA and another is S-Anon. You can type these in a search engine and find information. We do congratulate you on having the courage to ask the question and seek help.
Let us know if we can be of further assistance.
      Ron R.

  3. Does anyone want to help build an app/program where when one connects to an inappropriate website it automatically brings them to the SAA website, know matter what? OR Does anyone know if something like this already exists? Just a random thought, thanks.

    • Hi Rocky,

Glad you reached out…hope you are doing well. Check out the “Meetings” tab which has a list of all meetings in OC listed by day of the week.

  4. I am a leader of a Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance Chapter. I have sent a few people to your group. Everyone of them came back to me telling me that they heard their story. Thanks for being there.

    • We thank you Joel.

Mental health professionals estimate from 10% to 30% of our population suffers from some form of this addiction.

Thank you for thinking of us, it is a pleasure to serve!

  5. I have this problem I can’t get enough sex and I know I need help I masterbate About 10 times a day and have 3 women I see and still this isn’t enough and I have been obsessed with Sex and its controlling me what do I do

    • Hello Drw,

I suggest you go to our meetings tab and start going to one of our 30 meetings a week. Go for several times, ask questions and do not be fearful of asking for help & advice.

  6. I’m not sure where to start, I just found out that my 22 years old has been seen porno for a long time, can your program help him?

    • Hello Connie,
Thousands suffering from sexual compulsion/addictions have been helped by our program which is based on the 12 Steps of AA. Have him go to our meetings tabs and start attending meetings for a start.

  7. Ya I’m trying to find a meeting and it seems like they are all closed..this is disappointing because I was trying to possibly gain some insight for myself yet no meetings allow people to show up in the local area I’m not traveling hours to sit somewhere that already took so much out of me to ask for help… I might as well continue my ways it’s much easier then trying to find help… … plus you need new people to gain insight on progress without seeing someone who is barely trying to get help is a motivating factor…what is wrong with this world so I need to be vetted to attend? Is their that much relapse there?

    • Hello Andrew,
there is no vetting in our meetings, we only ask one thing, someone who suspects they are or definitely are a sex addict are all welcome. If you are a student, or a spouse of someone you think might have a problem, then our meetings are not for you.
The word “closed” means only the above, and does not mean a new person is not allowed to come. We keep people who are NOT sex addicts away from our meetings so they stay a safe place. Feel free to attend any of our meetings you wish!
      Ron

    • Hello Mak,
Check our meetings tab, anything that says closed does not mean closed to those looking for recovery, it means closed to students, observers, spouses.
We have close to 30 meetings weekly, all over Orange County, there are no dues or fees.
      Ron

  8. I have a question. I am new to SAA
I went to my first meeting last Saturday. I’m supposed to got out with my wife tomorrow on the condition that I went to a meeting today but I missed it due to unforeseen circumstances. I offered to go to 2 meetings next week and my wife says we shouldn’t go tomorrow on the date because I should go to the meeting instead. I have 3 kids and 2 jobs so going out is hard. Should we go in the date or the meeting?

    • Hello,
I would encourage you to always attend a meeting if possible. Something tells me your wife not only wants that, she expects it.
Look at our meetings tab, pick one or more meetings and attend as soon as possible!
      Ron

  9. I have attended one SAA meeting before, and want to keep coming back. This Wednesday night one looks like one I can get to easily. I look forward to meeting all of you, and getting support.

  10. I think I might be sex addict. If sex addiction means you have no control over your lust then that might be classified as one. Although I have my doubts since I’m only 20 years old, most would say that’s normal for a young male. What do you think?

    • Hello Ivan,

Something tells me you already know the answer to your question. Any time we “have no control”, that is a compulsion, another word is addiction. This addiction affects many, from children to older people. I recommend checking out one or more of our meetings and attending.

  11. Hello, my name is Joshua. Im seeking information on your group meetings. I’ve been struggling with porn addiction for more than 10 years and its affecting my relationship. I am eager to get support by professionals. Would this be a route to obtain recovery? Another thing that I wanted to inquire is, for the days of the meetings are held. I found a page in the website that shows different days and times, but I wasn’t sure if it was for every month or do the days (Monday through Friday) change every month? Thanks

    • Hello Joshua,

We are not mental health professionals, we follow and use the 12 Steps of AA. However, many of us do see mental health professionals to assist us in our recovery as well as working our recovery program in SAA. All our meetings are as listed, same day, same time…ect. If there are any changes, it is posted on the website.

I urge you to begin attending one or more of our meetings a week.

  12. I was wanting to come to meetings and was wondering if it’s better to wait until I get back from vacation or should I come this Thursday .

    • Hello Mark, go to our local website (ocisaa.org) and hit the meetings tab. You’ll see we have over 20 meetings a week. Pick one or more and attend!

  13. Looking for the Orange County Intergroup monthly meeting minutes up here, so I can refer my mtg members to it. The mtgs I see listed here date from 2013. Can we update?

    • Hello Summer! You can check this website under “meetings” tab. Unfortunately we do not have women’s only meetings at this time. We are looking for a woman to start one up. However, our “Mixed” meetings are open to you.
